What Has Waiting Taught You?

Have you ever waited so long for something that you began to wonder whether it would ever happen?

Perhaps it was an opportunity you had prayed for, a family situation you wanted resolved, a financial breakthrough, or an answer to a question that had troubled your heart for years.

Waiting is not always easy. Sometimes, it tests our patience, challenges our faith and makes us question our expectations.

Yet, I have come to appreciate that waiting can teach us lessons that immediate answers sometimes cannot.

Waiting teaches us patience. It reminds us that not everything happens according to our preferred timetable.

Waiting teaches us trust. We learn to depend on God even when we cannot see what lies ahead.

Waiting teaches us wisdom. Sometimes, a delay gives us time to reconsider our decisions, prepare ourselves and recognise what truly matters.

The Bible says in Isaiah 40:31:

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” (KJV).

This verse reminds us that waiting on God is not wasted time. It can become a season of renewed strength, deeper faith and spiritual growth.

Of course, waiting does not mean sitting idle. We must continue to work, pray, learn and fulfil our responsibilities while trusting God with the things beyond our control.

Perhaps the answer you are expecting has not arrived. Do not allow disappointment to rob you of the lessons and opportunities available today.

Now, I would love to hear from you:

What has waiting taught you about life, faith, patience or trusting God?

Have you ever experienced a situation where waiting eventually changed your understanding of what mattered most?

Let’s learn from one another.
